Six Sigma Master Black-belt Programme
Six Sigma Master Black Belt:

A Master Black-belt will be able to independently lead the Six Sigma Initiatives in their respective organizations. He/she will be able to integrate Six Sigma to organizational vision, system and culture. He/she will be effective trainer and coach for Champions, Black-belts, Green-belts and Yellow belts. The program would consist of contact training and sample teaching sessions for a duration of 12 days.


The program will provide participants with in-depth understanding of Six Sigma and develop leadership skills to independently lead Six Sigma initiative in their organization leading to successful Master Black-belt certification.


Certified Black-belt who has successfully led at least 3 Six Sigma project are eligible for the program. Aspiring Master Black-belts will have to consolidate their Black-belt level projects according to the 'Project Card' format prescribed by Indian Statistical Institute, Pune.


Six Sigma can be applied effectively in any kind of product or service based industry, such as Automotive, Banking, Insurance, Hospitality, Education, Logistics, BPO, Software, Marketing/ advertising, Media and several other business sectors stand to benefit as well. In addition, support services like, Maintenance, QC, HR, Admin., Environment, Safety, Finance/ Accounting, Sales/ Marketing & Purchase can apply the methods to obtain wonderful results.


Certificate will be issued by Indian Statistical Institute.

* Qualifying certificate by securing 80% marks in each of the test of teaching, project presentation and classroom test conducted on the last two days of the course.

* MBB Card shall be issued after

i) Successful qualification in the test and guiding 5 projects on improvement, AND

ii) a) Conducting 120 hours of training in related topics, OR

b) Attending 3 conferences/seminars/workshops on related subjects in the following one Year.


Rs.60,000 + Tax (@10.3%) per head.

3. Applicable Service Tax, presently 10.3%, TO BE ADDED to the total amount due.
4. Total fees to be paid in full alongwith the application by a) Demand Draft favouring ACADEMY OF INFORMATION MANAGEMENT payable at Pune OR b) Cash at the AIM Office at Pune

Day-1 to Day-5
- Participants would be trained for conducting Executive Overview training to organization leadership team and champion training, Overview of Six Sigma Methodology, Linking Six Sigma to Vision, Mission, Strategies, SBOs, and Business level dashboards, SBUs, Processes, People and Systems. Organization for Six Sigma, Basics of DMAIC, DFSS and Lean. SIPOC, Business Process Map Champion level process map, Business level dashboard, Project selection strategies, Project Charter, Tracking Six Sigma Projects
- Participants would be trained for conducting Black-belt, Green-belt and Yellow-belt training Type of Data, Data distributions, Measurement System Analysis Variable & Attribute, R&R Study, Sampling, Base level Assessment, Normality tests, Capability analysis: Cp Cpk Pp Ppk, Defect & defective, DPMO, DPO, DPU, Sigma Level, Process Analysis: Basic Flow Chart, Activity & Deployment flow chart, Opportunity Flow Chart.

- Problem Analysis, Sporadic Problems, Chronic Problems, Unstable Process, Control Charts, Test of Hypothesis, Tabular Analysis, Chi Square test, Regression Analysis, Process FMEA,
Solution Prioritization matrix, Solution Matrix, Before After tests, Solution Implementation, Design of Experiments - Taguchi, ANOVA, Control Plan, Control Charts for Online Analysis, Mistake Proofing, Overall Review
Phase 2
Day-6 to Day-10
- Participants would be trained for advanced statistical techniques. Non-parametric test, Reliability analysis, MANOVA, Advanced Control charts Data Mining and Business Analytic:Simulation, Data Preparation & Standardisation, Classification: Discriminant Analysis, Logistic regression, CART, Clustering, Association Mining: Market Basket Analysis, Dimension reduction: Principal Component Analysis, Prediction: Decomposition, Winters method, Single Exponential Smoothening, Double Exponential Smoothening, ARMA, ARIMA and model developments.
Lean Six Sigma approach: VSM, Takt time, cycle time, Hejunka box, line balancing, Japanese management tools- Poka yoke, Andon, Jidokha, SMED, 5S, Kaizen burst.
DFSS approach: MGAP, Risk mitigation plan, Feasibility study, VoS, Conjoint analysis, Contextual enquiry, new seven tools, QFD, TRIZ, Pugh matrix, P-R map, Design FMEA, DFX, Robust design, High level design, Detailed design, Field quality plan, supplier development plan.
Phase 3
Day 11 to Day 12
- Participants would appear for the test of Project presentation and teaching skill, and classroom test. - Test method directive
